Quoting: Anonymous Coward 717575I would, it sounds like you are writing something that could be published. Atheist |
Atheist User ID: 805039 United Kingdom 11/06/2009 03:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So are you saying any document I sign, I have to place "BSc" behind my name? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 717575I wouldnt for non academic stuff, however if you are writing something that may be read by others for research i certainly would. What are you writing a report on? The prof. wants us to write a made up report on back injury, etc... its an excercise. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 717575No, wouldnt bother then, but i guess its upto you. You said formal report, anything with data in that other people may have access too would be a a yes. Atheist |
PACNWguy User ID: 688273 United States 11/06/2009 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is not proper to put anything less than PhD (Dr) behind your name for educational designations. That does not apply to vocational designations like "CPA" OBAMA - THE FASTEST FAILED PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY "I inherated and I am Great!" |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 717575 United States 11/06/2009 03:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | that makes sense! thnx! I was probably going to make a jackass of myself before the prof. She would have been like , the nerve of this fellow to sign his name with BSc while I sign mine with PhD. Does he think he is me?! That does not apply to vocational designations like "CPA" Normally people here put the denomination afterwards. Like 'John Smith MSc' however if they are a doctor some people have it as 'Dr John Smith' 'John Smith PhD' 'John Smith M.D' I depends on the type of field, medical doctors are mostly called Dr, but its not unsuall to meet a chemist or biologist who is called a Dr. I have seen people put 'John Smith BSc, MSc, PHD' On papers, cards etc. Atheist |

But i have seen undergrad and postgraduate initials after a name. Atheist |

A BS is not really much of an accomplishment as it is the basic standard for most all entry level positions in mid size companies. Big whoop if you know what I mean. Better off not mentioning it but at the bottom of resumes in the education section. A Masters is the first thing that sets you apart from the vast majorty of job applicants.
