One. How do I know if the money I may give will actually go towards this project?

Two. Who is in charge of this project?

Three. How can you presume to know that these sick kids actually WANT these discs, and the crappy homemade musicals that come with them? What if the potential crap factor will lead to their death? Would we be liable?

I can buy a decent cd at a dollar store for a buck.

You might want to check into why it is so high since it is charity.

Before giving your money to anyone, check them out first.

I've found the easiest way to do this is by googling the website name, followed by the word 'scam'.

I noticed on the song list for the CD it has Christmas and Hanukkah. So it fits with the New Jerusalem holiday for the Festival of Lights Christmas. Hanukkah is also known as the Festival of Lights.

The Festival of Lights Christmas period is Dec 10/1-8 on the New Jerusalem calendar.

To the folks that are askin about the cost. While I cant speak to the details about this release in general comparing the cost of makin a CD at home and to a musical release is like apples and oranges.

A musical release has a number of fees from the mechanical and other rights release cost to possible costs tied back to development and production.

Ask any recording artist here if they think release a professional musical recording for 25 cents per disk that is using somone else songs lyrics.

How do I know this I have been in the recordin industry since 1995 as a distributor and I am a voting member of NARAS. If you say you can show me the contract and show me the distribution deal

All and all the fact that it is makin to the street for 3 bucks means that a lot of people that normally would get their cut are not.

Of course this is unpinned becaz it didn't hav enough hate or lies in it. GLP will retrun to your regular programed feartardin.

Like Santa Claus in the North Pole workshop, Gelder is using his San Diego GelderHead Productions studio to produce the sixth edition of Holiday Magic, A Gift for Children of All Ages. It’s a joyous CD full of stories and songs, which he distributes annually in December to children’s hospitals.

“Please submit a song, story, riddle or rhyme – anything that welcomes holiday time,” says Gelder.

The story line this year is about how Jeffrey the Reindeer and Santa Claus make their way from the North Pole to visit the children of San Diego. Along the way, they meet Jeffrey’s cousin Carlito, who lives at the Wild Animal Park.....

I do not get u people who pick on how someone writes quickly on a thread.We are not watching our grammar in the heat of the moment. I had a thread someone kept knocking how I wrote. it is just a distraction off the thread info

Not to cast scorn on the OP's request, but here's my personal take on charity.

There is something quick, emotionally safe and expedient about sending off a few bucks and telling yourself you have done something good for somebody over the holidays.

As some here mention, you don't know whether you actually have or not. But it's a "cheap" way to ease your conscience.

If you really do care and want to make a difference, start with the people who live near you. If everyone improved the spot they were in things could gradually improved socially.

This is truly giving because it requires a commitment from your body, time and mind and not just from your pocket book.

Go to an orphanage. Or a hospital. Or care center. Check with staff to find out who needs cheering up or doesn't get visitors.

Take small gifts and visit people individually. Sit with them and talk or play a game.

Do I practice what I preach? Damn betcha.

The results of your efforts are a gift back to you as well and you don't have to worry about whether you've been taken advantage of.
