1993 west virginia child protective services removed 2 children from a woman. she left her 2 kids age 3 and 1 in the care of her next door neighbor. (neighbor was to watch both kids at womans house) woman leaves to walk to store. upon womans return police and cps are there. that neighbor left the womans door open and walked 2 doors down to her apartment to get something, left the kids alone inside. someone saw this and called the police. cps took the children. to this day that woman doesnt have her kids back. the courts said it was the parents fault for leaving her children in the care of an incompetent sitter. the 'sitter' had no charges filed against her either.
