MAC versus WIN7. Windows wins.
I have a Macbook pro with OSX Snow Leopard and I have to say - Windows 7 wins. Sorry appletards, Windows 7 takes the cake this time. Microsoft took concepts that Apple marketed (as opposed to developed) and made them better. The key word there is better. This thread is for you all to figure out how I am wrong.

I have A Mac Pro running Snow Leopard, MacBook Pro running Leopard and a brand new laptop with Windows 7.

I must say I still like Snow Leopard better.

Just my opinion.

I used Windows 7 for like 2 weeks.

Re: MAC versus WIN7. Windows wins.
I tried Macs for a while but found myself using OS X hardly ever and sticking with Windows. My problem was that I'm not some newbie who just wants to surf the web, type a report and play around with garage band. I like to use a machine for serious music creation amongst other things and sadly the technical knowledge amongst Mac owners is pretty much Zilch. I was asking questions about Core Audio and just from the knowledge I have of ASIO I knew that they were talking crap. That's when I knew it wasn't the OS for me.

I mean they may be right that there is more issues with Windows but Windows has such a large user base that if you have a problem you know multiple users out there have had it before and someone has figured it out. With a Mac if you have a technical issue you are on your own no one really knows much behind GUI.

IMO: Microsoft makes a great OS to go with that hardware.

Yes, You are wrong.
Because the layer unther osX is Unix,
and before You bash,
You would known Unix is superior to
any Windows OS in an multitask, multiuser
and multithreaded environment.

Windows OS are insecure, even Windows 7.

Not to mention the numerous call homes to Microsoft
which invades Your privacy, when You update, install
or even use a program. Or things like indexing Your
media library to send statistics to Microsoft.

Or should I talk about the bad network layer inside any windows OS ? Even after a decade,
the network stack is horrible.

The only reason why Microsoft OS still exists is the
unfair support by all hardware vendors, who are attracted
to the money system of Microsoft and do lack support
for good drivers for Unix OS, or all things related
to gaming. And of course, You do have such companies such as Adobe who prefer to write programs for windows, or indeed, a lot of software companies who do write programs for Windows, but they don't write for Unix OS.
Why ? Maybe they are sponsored by Microsoft.
Whatever.

For the real (and secure) work, You need an Unix OS.
And not an OS who talks to all software vendors
what You are running on Your computer.

Put a Firewall on Your OS, and You would see how many
programs wants to call mommy. Or when the screen saver pops up, who makes outside connections !

This seems fully accepted by a lot of people.
But I do want as best as I can to have control about my computer. I don't accept other companies to take statistics about my computers, my software and my files. if You install some programs from Microsoft, Adobe, etc. You see, they do all have callbacks.
You startup Your computer and all those programs do make chitchats. Well...

You just prouved to be a smart ass.
You seems to known very little about what You
are talking about.

So I guess You talk for Yourself.

I am aware of nvidia drivers for Unix OS.
There are a lot of software companies who
do a good effort to write Linux drives,
but most often those drivers are inferior
to their Windows OS counterparts, worse,
some are compiled, so You can't study the
code.

That's a fact.

Hardware companies should be forced to deliver
opensource drivers for ALL major OS.

It's TWEAK. I lose my time here.
Go to play some games, but do not
post reviews of OS.

It's fucking BSD!!!! GEEZ.

Next?

Don't act as clown.
I just mention the history of Mac OSX.
It is as I stated,

I am on the net since the start,
and we did not use slang words such as GEEZ.

Those words came, when the internet came the
pleasure grounds for noobs.

Your multitask and multithread comment amazes me. OK..... I'll take a second bite. Threads are a product of who spawns them. I should coin that phrase... LOL.. Ping for a license.... :) If Microsoft decided that they weren't going to cater to the average user (music, video, internet), don't you think that they would tweek the kernel to go to "work mode"? Damn straight they would.

NEXT!!?

Re: MAC versus WIN7. Windows wins.

All the Best,

VVizz of Ur

Thank you... You saved me a lot of typing.
You should see home many PC's I have to fix that run windows xp vista and windows 7.

Os X just works.

If you want to play games go buy a Xbox 360 or PS3.
If you want to work get a MAC.

Please people.
I'll go crazy if I have to pull another virus off of a pc.

Re: MAC versus WIN7. Windows wins.
So I guess the 7th time wasn't the charm, huh OP?

‘Black Screen of Death’ hits Windows 7

"Reports are circulating on Internet forums about problems some Windows 7 users are having when they log on to their system, basically they are faced with a black screen and a system crash.

Initially Microsoft Windows patches were suspected, after Software firm Prevx said that the November update could be responsible."

Windows 7, just like every other windows version, can eat a dick.

You don't have to be a developer to know this.
