It should be okay. Kerosene is pretty thin, so it will cut the lubricating properties of the diesel some. Fill the tank the rest of the way with diesel.

never tried it but leave the top of the tank for a fwe days and the volatiles will evap off and then leave you with a closer diesel mix

or just syphon half of the fuel out and fill with more diesel then tip rest in every now and again

Not a problem, it will burn just like diesel. Just add some more diesel, it will run just fine. Really, nothing to worry about.

I suggest you find a match and check the level of the tank.

I am wondering if vegetable oil might help, depending on the temperature. I carry a bottle of 85% vegetable oil to 15% kerosene behind the front seat as emergency fuel.

Run it. Not a problem. Just to make yourself feel better, add a sulpher replacement additive.

I got my 100 gallon tank filled with summer diesel. I asked the delivery guy, what do I do for a winter mix? He said cut the summer mix about 5 diesel to 1 kerosene and it will start and run in the winter fine.

Re: Help!! Poured Kerosene Into Diesel Truck
When I was a kid I ran out of gas in a Corvair (air cooled engine like a VW). I went home and grabbed a 5 gallon can of kerosene that I thought had gas in it. I put it in the car and turned the starter. With much fan fair, sputtering, coughing and smoking it started up. I made it home, but it smoked like hell, overheated and was underpowered. After that I learned to check what was really in cans. Ah the lessons of youth.

Hubby says you should be fine. Its a little thinner & will run in the winter time.

Buy a bottle of diesel treatment at the truck stop if you are really worried about it.

Mr. Diesel ran his first motor (at the World's Fair) on peanut oil, or so I read.

Yup.....but the deal was, I had mixed and matches...I had the yellow cans, the blue cans.....but I couldn't recall what was what in the cans....

I did smell the kerosene, and it really smells a lot like diesel...I had bought the kerosene for a stove when the ice storm of the century hit us....
