The temple is the US. The rebuilding will come either after a full-scale civil war or an attack by Russia and China.

Europe is going to be wiped off the map, or atleast knocked out of the "Almost Superpower" stage.

Multiple wars to look for right before the attack on the US:

Venezula Versus Colombia (I might be wrong on the second nation, but there will be a South American War)

North Korea Versus South Korea (expect Japan and Austrailia to jump in, which means China might be dragged in)

Iran Versus Israel (causes Iran's allies to attack israel, dragging the EU and SA into the fight, expect large scale economy crashes)

After all of this, the USA will either collapse and turn on itself, or jump into 2 of the 3 wars (with troops, expect aide for the other war) and the EU will push out it's military to defend their interests. Expect Russia to play the innocent party until they see either Europe or the USA as an easy target (or both). After they attack the US, China may lead an offensive to steal russian resources and land.

And to answer a quick question:
Why is the US the Temple? Because it's were all races, cultures and religions are. I could be totally wrong, of course, but this is what I expect to happen in the next 1-5 years (with 2016 being the last of the fighting).
