Catholics Worship Idols?

Idol: An image used as an object of worship. A false GOD. This is how the dictionary defines an idol.

Image: A reproduction of the form of a person or an object. An optically formed duplicate, counterpart, or other representative reproduction of an object, especially an optical reproduction of an object formed by a lens or a mirror. This is what the dictionary says an image is. It could be a statue, icon, or even a photograph.

Worship: The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object. This the definition given by the dictionary.

Do you have a photograph of a loved one? Do you worship it? I doubt it. Maybe you only use the picture to remind yourself of that person. Isn't that right?
What about the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial? Do you or anyone else worship it or any other statue? Of course not. Then why is the statue there? It is to remind us of what a great man he was and in an image to which we can relate.

Christians are under attack throughout the world today. In the United States Christians still enjoy freedom to worship God without suffering much more than ridicule, hatred, or discrimination at work and school. However in many other countries such as China, Sudan, Africa, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Russia, and many Muslim nations, Christian suffer much greater persecution and often times death for their faith. During the tribulation this suffering will be worldwide and will continue even to the point of martyrdom.

II Timothy 3:1-5,7 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Careful what you worship.

There are two testaments to the bible that are at war with one another. The presented is the war with evil that is ever ongoing and nothing can be done. That is The Old Testament.

Then there is the second where God sent his only and holy son. A peaceful and perfect man. The son of God. I'm following him. His people fight with will and don't wait on the sidelines.
