Quoting: CyndexiaBecause Christianity likes to keep one story, its own, in the forefront. Astrology opens up minds and hearts to possibilites and to directly experienced reality, and that's a challenge to a bookish faith. Astrology opens up minds and hearts to possibilites and to directly experienced reality, and that's a challenge to a bookish faith. Why do Christians think this is so harmful to their religion???? Well, just as a quick guess. It's possible that people would put their faith into astrology rather than God. i.e. They would live their lives in accordance to what their horoscope says rather than what the Bible and/or Holy Spirit says. I don't represent the church though, so I can't officially speak for them. |
Aztec Cavalry User ID: 837356 Mexico 12/20/2009 12:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why do Christians think this is so harmful to their religion???? Quoting: CyndexiaThe core Christian belief is that there's only one goal to the spiritual life (being saved), and only one path (Jesus). Astrology suggests there are other things a spirit can do and think about while on Earth, and that leads to doubt about that goal. When doubt comes in, attention to a goal that lays claim to all of a person's life weakens and falls. That's why there are so many lapsed Christians. Buddhists, say, believe there have been many Buddhas, Christians insist that the good stuff has only lived on Earth one time. Quoting: Cyndexiaso did the Christian wise men following the star to Bethlehem .....and yet they all forbid astrology....... well, they still accept astronomy I think. My philosophy is if it didn't work, then nobody would believe in it. As far as biblical Astrology, well, you have to go back to Enoch 8 for that one. 1 And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all 2 colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they 3 were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, 'Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . . If you really want to get into it about the church, then I'd say that they "forbid" astrology because it was taught to men by fallen angels. That's probably the real reason, even though nobody in the church would admit it. However, that didn't stop them from wearing eye makeup. Another name for Sariel was Aries (first constellation). The name Baraqijal means "Lightning of God" At any rate, the twelve tribes of Israel correlate pretty well with the 12 zodiac signs. I've looked quite a bit into that and found some pretty astounding similarities. Last Edited by Zedakah on 12/20/2009 12:41 AM |

But gaining in knowledge isn't a bad thing; however, what you do with that knowledge is where morality comes into play. Personally, I only use astrology for psychological studies and research. Sunspot activity is also extremely interesting in how it affects life (and thought) on Earth. I know it is against my personality to want to harm or kill others, but recently I've been very agitated and aggressive as the sunspots have picked-up. I can just look at someone and give a complete psychological profile that is pretty accurate, and you'd be surprised at how many times I get their birth month right. |

Meaning, that if you've grown in knowledge and wisdom for half your life (like a normal human should) then every time you take the test, you'll get a different typology. However, E/I will most likely stay the same, because that is the hardest one to overcome probably because it's the first aspect of personality that appears in humans (even newborns). |
