Settlers: Expulsion of Jews will be prevented


JERUSALEM - The government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has declared war on God and his Word by relinquishing its birthright in the Gaza Strip and Samaria in return for a false peace, senior Israeli rabbis said Sunday.

Rabbis David Meir Druckman and Dov Valfa called on those opposed to Sharon’s “disengagement” plan to increase their efforts to thwart the plan and not to fear imprisonment.

"We will do everything we can in this war of God to prevent the expulsion and destruction, and with God´s help we will be the first to go to prison,” the rabbis wrote in a letter circulated to the Israeli media.

Druckman and Valfa said that following Passover, the leaders of the anti-retreat movement would “issue clear instructions and practical suggestions regarding what each person can do (without violence of course) for this sacred cause.”

They said “hundreds of thousands of Israelis” were prepared to take part in this effort, and accused the government of declaring “war on God and his Torah.”

Sharon “is about to destroy Israel and place millions of Jews in grave danger,” their letter stated.
