United States 01/05/2010 05:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Legislators to get swine flu vaccine at Statehouse NDIANAPOLIS - Indiana lawmakers can get the swine flu vaccine during the first day of their 2010 legislative session. The state Department of Health is hosting a vaccination clinic Tuesday at the Statehouse for legislators. State Heath Commissioner Judy Monroe says she hopes lawmakers will set an example for their constituents by getting the H1N1 vaccine. Swine flu has been declining in Indiana, but Monroe says the flu is unpredictable and could spike later this winter or in the spring. The H1N1 vaccine was originally targeted for people in high risk groups, but in December the state said all Indiana residents who want the vaccine could get it. The vaccine is available for free at local health departments or for a cost at many pharmacies. [ link to www.chicagotribune.com] |
