Nothing sinister about it, although i agree that many of their songs warned about the perils of black magic. |

(this refers to the original Black Sabbath, 1970-1978) NOPE! There is no such thing as "Christian Rock and Roll". There is Rock and Roll music. There is Christian music. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 849249People who don't like Black Sabbath have not been exposed to the right material, that's all. What are you into? With a little info I could put together 10 songs that would suprise you. There's something for everyone with Black Sabbath. I'm not too fond of Signatures. Why would I want to end every post the same way? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 687593"The ghost of violence was something I'd seen I sold my soul to be the human obscene How could this poison be the dream of my soul? How did my fantasies take complete control, yeah?" Try looking at those lyrics in context. That song is about learning a very important lesson. Money, fame, power etc, cannot buy happiness. They are delusions of grandure, and in reality can only bring misery, not happiness. The lyrics describe a person wising up to their own foolish choices. Hence the song title Megalomania. Read the lyrics to the whole song, you'll see it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 857657Black Sabbath band members had a dark gothhic, almost evil, look to them and yet the lyrics to many of their songs read like christian sermons. So where in a christian sermon does biting the head off a bat come in?? |

Read the lyrics to the whole song, you'll see it. I guess it's open for interpretation. Still my impression of their lyrics is that they represent some kind of gnosticism. This is from the last album, "Never say die", with Ozzy on song. |
