Simple question, why is it that wolves evoke such strong feelings in humans? I have noticed that even the sight of a wolf in it's natural habitat, whether it be a picture, in movies, or even in one case a well made plushy, it evokes strong emotion in me.
I find it very strange because there is nothing in my past that would suggest wolves ever played any critical or important part in my life. I have never once even seen a wolf in person.
If i could describe it, the emotion is like strong admiration of beauty and liveliness to the extreme. If I let myself get lost in the emotion it can sometimes bring me to tears and I'm not typically an emotional person. Its only wolves that bring this side of me out to the open.
By a little searching around the web, I know that I am also not alone in feeling this way. Some feel it to lesser degrees than others but it seams to be there in a large number of people.
So what causes this? Is it a deep admiration and sorrow for something that the wolves posses that we have lost or is it something deeper?
here is a good video if you want to test it out on yourself
I'd also like to add that its not pity that I am feeling, like some tree hugging green agenda fanatic. It is more of a deep respect. |
