Brittany Murphy 911 call released

Authorities in the US have released audio of the emergency 911 call Brittany Murphy's mother made on the day the Hollywood starlet died.

Sharon Murphy is heard crying as she calls emergency services to tell them her daughter is unconscious and not breathing.

She relays instructions from the operator on performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to Murphy's husband Simon Monjack.

"Brittany, please come back," Mrs Murphy screamed during the eight-minute phone conversation, which was released today to celebrity website TMZ.

When ambulance officers arrived the 32-year-old actress had no "signs of life" and died soon afterwards at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

The star of movies like Clueless and Sin City was declared to have died of natural causes, with a coroner's report on her premature death yet to be released.
