Cop disarms, candcuffs crime victim to "Make her feel safe" won't be long now

If you do not know who the bad guy really is, only what people are saying, you first make the scene safe.

I wrote the above without having read the article. Now that I have read the article I know that the officer did the right thing. You do not want some guy who might be deranged walking around with a submachine gun in his hands. Too many police officers get unexpectedly shot in the line of duty.

In that case, I'd shoot you first and ask questions later.

Of course, I am not a cop. But I do know survival on the streets.

The day has come when it's no longer safe to call the cops when you've been victimized.

The only way the cop knew he had a weapon is that he identified himself as the victim and among the identification documents proferred was his firearms permit

It's never safe to call the police when you have been victimized by one of their own. Right or wrong, they back up their own. Nothing more than a hi-tech gang.

I'd say they have been winning for a long time, but I think that could change very fast as people are tired of watching government and police commit crimes and walking away free.

I think you forgot that the police are to "protect and serve". How does handcuffing and leaving the owner helpless protect him? The police also disregarded his rights to self-protection by taking his weapon and handcuffing him. The owner identified himself with ID. Do criminals come to your home with ID that shows they live at your house?
