Oh well, I guess it wouldn't matter at that point because I would be stoned and then I could get a job sacking groceries or something. Hey then I could my grow my "freak flag" again, just like the 80's... so I guess it would be a win win. Bring on the ganj. |

I do believe it should be treated in the same fashion as alcohol. Smoke it in privacy is not a problem, just like drinking a beer at home. But like drinking a beer or five at a bar and then driving home is illegal, so should smoking pot and then driving under the influence. That being said I have to admit that in my younger days, (those days being 1974-1984) I smoked more than my weight in pot. Hell, I couldn't function worth a damn unless I had smoked a joint, and it was a lot cheaper then too. I did my best driving when I was high. I saw everything while I was driving. Maybe even some things that weren't there, but I was an excellent driver. But after I reached thirty, I began to see what it was doing to me. I was getting older and slower, and pot was slowing me even more. I ended up completely quitting. I haven't smoked a joint in over twenty years. I still miss it, I still want it, and I wish I had it. But my lungs are now shot, and I have to suck oxygen through an air line, and I have to ask myself everyday if it was worth everything I had done in my youth. Smoking pot was one of the few pleasures I really had, but it helped lead me to an earlier death. Everytime I lit up a joint, I would chain smoke cigarettes to keep the high. Cigarettes do kill. They just take a little longer. |

Doom Serenity User ID: 20036580 United States 01/03/2013 08:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No, it's more dangerous than booze Quoting: DanfromtheHillsThen explain to me why booze is legal? We all know it's because it's much safer and doesn't lead to harder drugs. Fact you can die from drinking too much alcohol. Fact no one has ever died from smoking marijuana. The main reason why it is illegal is because it would pretty much take over the pharmaceutical companies business. Considering that the majority of medical problems can be treated in one way or another with marijuana. Another reason why it is still illegal is because it generates copious amounts of revenue for the prison industrial complex. Plain and simple the only reason why it is illegal is money and politics. "Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country." - Thomas Jefferson, "Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere." - George Washington |
