There have been 61 earthquakes during the 1800's,(100 years).

There have been 14 earthquakes during the 1700's.

There have been 9 earthquakes during the 1600's.

There have been 2 earthquakes during the 1500's.

There have been 3 earthquakes from 1499-1000.

- 347 A.D. Oil wells are drilled in China up to 800 feet deep using bits attached to bamboo poles.

- 1264 Mining of seep oil in medieval Persia witnessed by Marco Polo on his travels through Baku.

- 1594 Oil wells are hand dug at Baku, Persia up to 35 meters (115 feet) deep.

- 1848 First modern oil well is drilled in Asia, on the Aspheron Peninsula north-east of Baku, by Russian engineer F.N. Semyenov.

- 1854 First oil wells in Europe are drilled 30- to 50-meters deep at Bóbrka, Poland by Ignacy Lukasiewicz.

The use of petroleum is what has been producing earthquakes around the world, and as our population increases and becomes more dependent on oil "nature's lubricant" is depleted and in turn produces more violent and more common earthquakes. Our history of Oil through the ages began in 347 A.D., and the list of historical earthquakes has been augmenting as our consumption increased for this precious crude in tandem.

Oil is not a fossil fuel. Oil is nature's lubricant.

Whether you believe oil to be fossil fuel (coming from dead dinosaurs that never exited) or from its true origins (the decomposition of nature's own vegetation, animal/human kingdom) this process cannot take place below the fault line, this process occurs just a few meters deep. Thereafter does this lubricant collect and spread through-out the earth's crust as a lubricant. The true origin of oil is also why Crude varies greatly in appearance. It is usually black or dark brown or yellowish or greenish depending on its natural surroundings and landscape.

This crude is what nature uses to keep the crust lubricated from causing sudden shifts below. This crude lubricates and stabilizes the crust from the pressure above into shifting violently, the lubrication (oil) allows the rocks beneath to move slowly in ratio with the pressure above and thus no violent quake is produced. The more crude is extracted from nature's oil pit where they're produced, the less crude reaches out through-out the earth's crust.
