There is a New York Time online article where the reporters quotes his now dead grandmother say that she was in the delivery room in Kenyan.

The resin his mother was there was due to the fact that she was visiting his fathers family. She was going to leave the nation after finding out how the dislike the idea of the to being together but she was unable to leave due to the fact that she was 9 months pregnant.

That is the gist of the New York Time one.

I am still looking for it. I was made back when he was running for senator. So 2004 or 2005 and this is a lot of web pages to look though.
