Quoting: Anonymous Coward 836722too embarrased to go to a doctor about such a thing tbh. I'd rather take my chances than go get my sack examined Embarrassment is easy to get over. Cancer takes longer. Go to the doc for goodness sake. If at first you don't succeed, perhaps failure is more your style. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 836722Get this. My bro in law had testicular cancer on his heart. Apparently your nuts, when in the embryonic stage, are developed next to the heart. A little piece of testicle (nut) was still with the heart and that little piece got testicular cancer. Chemo and a strong will has allowed him to remain cancer free for 15 years now. Even had two kids though the doctors said the chemo would leave him unable to. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 832190 United States 01/20/2010 08:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If it isn't on the testicle itself, it probably isn't cancer...BUT..there could be a real problem that is causing it. I've had testicular cancer TWICE...and trust me, I was nervous bringing the subject up to my doctor. Don't worry about it....these people have seen everything under the sun, so unless you are housing a haitian orphan down there...nothing to be embarassed about. You probably have a hydrocele or varicocele which are fluid based...but sometimes trauma to your ball, including cancer can cause them. Don't worry...but at least tell your doc. my doc told me I didn't have cancer but he sent me for an ultrasound to be sure. It was cancer...and in just the 3 weeks from the test to getting it removed...it doubled in size. Tell the doc! |

I'd rather take my chances than go get my sack examined Think of what a woman goes through with pelvic exams and mammograms and giving birth where she sometimes shits and pees as she pushes the baby out! Doctors have seen it all. They've removed objects from people's rectums! Seriously, you should get it checked. Tell the doc you're embarrassed, they're pretty compassionate. |

This is biological evidence that a man's heart is in his pants, thank you! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2633433 United States 08/26/2013 02:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in the medical field. Lets just say...I'm pretty certain its NOT cancer. Lets see if i can word this properly... Without "diagnosing" you and getting sued for giving medical advice Testicular cancer is almost always in the testicle. A mobile, unattached lump is almost never cancer. In my professional experience, these lumps are almost always cysts. An ultrasound will prove I'm right. But, of course, I must add that any medical advice should be sought from a doctor |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 2633433 United States 08/26/2013 02:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like a cyst. I've had TC and it's definitely part of the ball. Get it checked though dude, cysts and blockages can make you sterile if not treated. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30035975 Cysts are VERY common. In the testicles, scrotum, ovaries, thyroid, liver...hell...cysts are everywhere in the body. That said, cysts can cause problems if they interfere with normal organ functions...which is not very common. So, please don't assume you'll become sterile because you found a lump. However, its always wide to check with a doctor. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 870107too embarrased to go to a doctor about such a thing tbh. I'd rather take my chances than go get my sack examined OP, It's very common to get nodules in the scrotal area. And it's very common to be embarrassed about it. Most men avoid the doctor when it comes to genital issues. And sometimes, they wait til it becomes an emergency and they have to go to the hospital. However, I understand your hesitation. If you feel strongly about avoiding the doctor, at least keep a simple "journal" about your issue - jot down 1) the date when you first found the nodule, 2) the location of the nodule 3) the size of the nodule. If you're unsure of the size, try comparing it to something else, like the size of a pea, the size of your fingernail, etc) Note if its mobile or painful. Keep checking it every so often and compare if its getting bigger, or changing. Add that to the journal as well. In case you need to go to the doctor, you'll have your notes and it will help the doctor. If nothing else, it'll give you a benchmark on any changes it may or may not go through. Just know, that even though you may be embarrassed, the doctor isn't. It becomes very routine dealing with various body parts when working in the medical field |
