Yes and the defeatist attitude is the worst part of all! If this is what the country is comprised of, yes, we are indeed done for!

For $1 you can buy a variety of dried beans, onyon/onion and other seasonings to make them delicious, next day they are chili, etc. and feed that whole family for days if they had to do it for the $5 sandwich. Of course, God forbid, they would have to learn to cook and stop whining long enough to do it.

Antidepressants, my ass! He needs to get off his and take care of his family and learn to ge grateful for what he does have.

Ever notice hhow people with this self-pity attitude are just about always the ones who end up in this kind of situation and frame of mind?

You will never have more until you learn to appreciate what you already have.


You know I can identify with poverty as I have been poor.
Here's what I did not do when I was poor and was wondering how I would feed my child.
There was no beer and cigarettes, no K-mart lay-a-ways as we dressed ourselves in clean clothes purchased from garage sales and the Good Will. There was no eating at Sub-way and out anywhere for that matter. I cooked at home every single meal. I did not gamble on anything nor do I now.

I never allowed myself to become fat and slovenly and dirty. Poverty does not equal dirty.

I took that opportunity to put myself through college while working every mundane piece of shit job I could find. It was a bitch. But we did it. We never gave up and I never asked my family or friends for a dime.

I never received food stamps, welfare or any government subsidy. Truth is if you are sitting back waiting for something to happen to you or for you then you are already doomed.

Unbelievable. It's hard to feel sorry for people who put beer, cigarettes, foot long subs, and gambling before feeding their children. This has less to do with losing a job than a mindset.

Look at this guy. Would you hire him? He needs a bath and to clean himself up and stop feeling sorry for himself, it sends a terrible message to his children.

I can relate to you because it was the same way for me.
It's a mindset. Unfortunately this is a story that is all across Amerika.


I see this constantly in my line of work. People with electronic gadgets, SUV's, pills, booze, cigarettes,drugs, and are on public assistance. I see it in every state I've ever worked in. They can afford all of these things but want free health care. Go figure. Priorities.
