>>>I wonder how many here have any idea how bad Elkhart Indiana is and has been been for employment. Believe me, they aren't that far behind Detroit
Just how sustainable is a local economy built on building 8mpg gashog behemoth fun vehicles anyway?
in the era of 75$ a barrel oil
Delusional.
There are slightly used ones being practically given away that are superior to a tent, during the rest of the depression living in obamaville though....may pick one up myself just in case bad comes to worse
Yeah, I guess about as sustainable as Detroit was making all those small, mid-sized and luxury vehicles.
Or about as sustainable as Pittsburg was making that stupid steel.
Or about as sustainable as California and those tech jobs!
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 516293oh come on--these Rvs, as the name says, are for fun, not practical transportation--the retiree equivalent of the yokel's harley--expensive impractical vehicles for fun.
these times don't have much spare cash for expensive fun. There are big better-times motorboats, bikes, and rvs going for a song all over the country--there is no money thus no market
harley sales down 49% last year--what does that say, except if you don't have enough you cant piss away 20K on a toy motorcycle?
most people are still working, and the sensible ones drive a frugal gas sipper to commute to work because that comes first, getting to work
only shortsighted idiots, or people who haul big stuff in their work, should be buying bloated pickups and suvs now--but alas, i see ni**e* rich assholes driving new ones all over town "because the deal was so good it's cheaper than that puny car"..
don't cry to me when gas goes back to $4 a gal
DO THE MATH
YOU CAN"T SPEND MONEY BUT ONCE
