**** CASCADIA SUBDUCTION EARTHQUAKE THIS WEEKEND? ****
I hold the same position with Mitch. There is going to be MASSIVE AMOUNTS of water pressure on the subduction zone off the west coast of California, Oregon, and Washington this weekend. And add to that the pull on the tides of a full moon.

Doesn't look good.

EAT, this time I have to say it...you're and idiot.

There will be NO additional 'water pressure' on the subduction zone than there is any other day/week/month year.

Storm surges do NOT add 'water pressure'.

The tidal action of the moon is a gravitational constant and has NOTHING to do with the amount of light reflecting off of it.

You should stick to the stock market...maybe not even that.

Usually this is a quiet time of the month for EQuakes. But I have noticed that they haven't slowed down.
They kind of reminded me last night of a woman in labor. The "pains" are coming more often..I think we are getting ready to see a BIG ONE delivered.

maybe not storm surges directly but everything is connected to everything else...

Strong Tides Can Trigger Earthquakes (moon affects the tide)
[link to www.sciencedaily.com]
Earthquakes can be triggered by the Earth's tides, UCLA scientists confirmed Oct. 21 in Science Express, the online journal of Science. Earth tides are produced by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on the Earth, causing the ocean's waters to slosh, which in turn raise and lower stress on faults roughly twice a day. Scientists have wondered about the effects of Earth tides for more than 100 years. (The research will be published in the print version of Science in November.)

Sun and Moon Trigger Deep Tremors on San Andreas Fault

[link to www.sciencedaily.com]
ScienceDaily (Dec. 25, 2009) — The faint tug of the sun and moon on the San Andreas Fault stimulates tremors deep underground, suggesting that the rock 15 miles below is lubricated with highly pressurized water that allows the rock to slip with little effort, according to a new study by University of California, Berkeley, seismologists.

Thread: West Coast Alert!!! USGS Warning!

USGS Sends Warning of Extreme Jet Stream and Ocean Currents

by Mitch Battros – Earth Changes Media www.earthchangesmedia.com

I have received a “warning” from the USGS, Western Coastal and Marine Geology concerning the US West Coast – from northern Mexico to Alaska. A second thrust of storms is heading towards Northern California and traveling north to Oregon, Washington and Alaska. This storm is bringing jet stream winds of over 200 mph.

snip

It is unlikely, but possible the five M-Class flares from last week may have set off a magnetic disturbance affecting the Earth’s core.

- Watch the Cascadia Subduction Zone – ‘Fluid Displacement’

Along with high winds comes an ocean storm surge and torrential rain. Enormous amounts of water will hit the US West Coast. This event will exacerbate (intensify) “fluid displacement”.

I really don't know what to say to this...
I mean it could happen anyway, and I live in Western Washington so I would feel the wrath of such a large earthquake. But I think people are getting a little too hopeful on their "predictions", and this is just another example of nonsense.
