Source Sodium Iodide and Iodine

If you were looking for cheap a source of iodine with iodide. Potassium Iodide is found in Lugols Solution but is quite expensive for 1 oz DEA FedGov limited botle.

Sodium Iodide is also effective to ward off against the body absorbing radiactive iodine isotopes:

8 drops of tincture of iodine in 1 liter of water serves to disinfect water but also provides iodine and iodide. There is 8mg of iodine in that liter of water. The daily recommended minimum amount of iodine is 150 micrograms. The body can tolerate way, way higher.

Betadine also works but 4 drops per liter, but there is no iodide, to give you the same amount of iodine.

If your body doesn't need iodine, and if there is radioactive iodine isotope breathed in or ingested, the thryroid won't absorb it.

...and used straight on infections is good too.

Thanks for the tip. The Iodine supplements I have found are such a rip-off (most contain less than what you would find in a potato). Cheers.

Just ordered my liquid Iodine. This is MUCH better value than the tablet equivalent. Make sure you get the stuff without elemental iodine because that stuff is mildly toxic.
