SHUTTLE LAUNCH countdown... LESS THAN 5 HOURS
The last night launch of the shuttle was scheduled for 4:39 this morning but it was scrubbed due to low cloud cover.

STS-130 launch has been rescheduled for Mon. Feb. 8 at 4:14 am. I'll be following the launch and if anyone would like to join me in the wait.

This is where NASA posts updates and you can watch the countdown clock.

I'll have to check the clouds and see if it's clear here. I might stay up and watch it.

For most.. probably not. But if it were to blowup I can guarantee everyone would be all over this subject. People are so cryptic.

I posted because there are some people out there like me that enjoying watching the launches. I live about 1 hour north of the launch site and I get a great view from my front yard. The night launches are spectacular! And.. this may be the very last night launch ever.

So.... you can be a fuddy dud and I'll be enjoying a beautiful show.

I know what you mean... last night/this morning they waited until the last possible moment to scrub the launch. What a bummer to stay up and wait for nothing. I've got a good feeling about tonight though. Weather is better and so far they are green on all stops.

Launch is set for 4:14am EST. I forgot to mention the time zone in my first post.

It didn't launch?

Now I don't feel as bad. I was awake when it was supposed to go up, but was too much of a lazy-ass to get out of bed.

Maybe I'll make it this morning...or not

you know I probably will, being the closet science geek I am.

Is there going to be a thread for the launch, or will we use this one?

I ask only so I know how many Bloody Marys and how much champagne I'll need for the mimosas I'll be serving at launch time.

Sure you will...

How about this, after the launch is successful, you tell us?

That is, if you'll even be around for the launch
