Stop masquerading as English teachers in China, you charlatan missionaries!

Cease and desist your fraudulent and intentional deception of those who expect you to be a professional with sincerity, not someone bringing in a Trojan horse of religion! ANY RELIGION!

Chinese English majors (and non-majors) pack our classrooms because they've never seen a real live foreigner before (This term I have 535 students and only 5 have ever been face to face with a foreigner before they met me). We are a big attraction, and we live in a fishbowl because locals are extremely interested in the mundane details of our "westerner" life.

Leave the students alone! Just because they are curious about western life and make a captive audience even when explaining your grocery shopping list does not under any circumstance give you the liberty or permission to take advantage of the inherent hospitality, respect and politeness that that curiosity brings.

These are your students. They look up to you. They can only judge you by your appearance. They've never met a western snake-oil salesmen before. They can't tell a westerner with sincerity who does their job honestly and professionally, from you evil decepticons who wish to control minds and actions of 19 year-old children WHO TRUST YOU TO DO NOTHING MORE THAN TEACH THEM CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH--- NOT HOW JESUS SAVES.

Who am I protecting? Chinese university students come from dull gray villages from all over a province. I know, I've visited some of these villages. They are bleak and depressing with families struggling to make $1200 a year, many all at once during the harvest time. By some miracle, one student in the village might claw their way to university with the help of their parents saving harvest money as well as relatives chipping in. For almost all of them (530/535 of my students this term), this is their first time leaving home and they are scared to tears, literally.

Do not exploit this weakness in them you cowardly BASTARDS who hide behind a mask! It is your responsibility as a human being not to fuck with those who do not know better, especially when you damn well know better!!!

The students live in a small dorm that is nothing like you imagine unless you've seen first hand the developing world of China. Then here comes your new teacher---- "Wow, a foreigner! Where's he/she from? How exciting, lets take a million photos with them!.......etc". They tell you you're great and that you look like 20 movie stars they've seen, and that they envy you growing up in the western world. YOU tapeworms take advantage of this innocent curiosity by offering a Trojan horse filled with NOTHING THAT BELONGS IN A STANDARD ENGLISH CLASSROOM IN CHINA! PERIOD!!!

I know damn well what I'm talking about. Your Church sends you to China to teach English at university level. Its quite easy as all that's needed is a B.A. in anything and be a native English speaker. The Church gives you a handbook that details how to incorporate the teachings of Christianity into your everyday English discussion and speaking classes "...try to find opportunities in the discussion to highlight relevant passages in the Bible...." WTF!

You pernicious scum then compete with each other over how many innocent, respectful and trusting students you have converted, or who are attending your secret Sunday services. You sick fucks tally your stats with the ego of a pro-athlete. I've sat in on your conversations and coffee talks detailing your achievements as you tried to convert me. Shame on you!

I don't need any, but I have proof of what you and your cohorts do. I discovered one such handbook, along with a folder detailing the instructions to "Agent Maria", a female missionary "English teacher" at one university I worked for in 2005. After her 3-year stint I moved into her then vacant top-floor apt, and therein discovered a shelf full of papers detailing "Agent Maria's" various missionary assignments, goals, conversion records, lists of potential students along with notes detailing how far along the process of conversion they were, etc. I heard she had intended to return to the same university the following year, so that's why she left so many things. I'm not making this shit up.

One interesting technique highlighted in the handbook detailed how to use the "office hour" (the school requests you do one a week but its usually voluntary). This opportunity to meet with groups of students was not lost on "Ron", who hosted an "office hour" in his apartment EVERY DAY (I've been in this biz a long time, and once a week is standard). He had a dozen students attending his Sunday mass (I lived above him so I could hear it). Everyone knew he was a priest from New Jersey, but the school didn't care, because they needed teachers (which was true). Last I heard, "Father Ron" was attending Chinese language classes full-time in Beijing.

Oh, and to you Mormon missionaries all over South Korea, I rode my motorcycle around my university campus everyday ripping down the endless fliers you posted daily. I hope the Korean students took advantage of your "free English classes" and had the guts to tell you off to your 'Elder' 21 year old faces. South Korea has their own brand of Catholicism going on, and I don't have an issue with you missionaries in Korea because the students aren't being preyed on like they are in China. You'll never get Koreans to give up Starcraft anyway!

Like a vampire hunter, I expose your lecherous deception to my students and directly to your faces every time I see you. I tear down the facade, the mask of professionalism and trust they see in you.

Don't try to justify your intentional deception on this thread!
You are agents of religious DOOM on an innocent godless people!

I've been teaching full-time in universities in Korea and China since 2003.

Thanks GLP one love.

Good for you, keep up the good work! I know this is true because my cousin went to N. Korea as a "nurse" with the baptists..and ended up teaching English..of course her affiliation with the Baptists ended shortly after she was caught with her Korean Girlfriend "Wu"...heh...

Also, missionaries RUINED (and I do mean RUINED) the culture in Hawai'i. They went in there and took away their language, their customs, their religion, and even their dress..AND participated in the coup in which Hawai'i was taken from her people and handed to the U.S. as a territory.

Hey, let's be fair...it isn''t just the Christians who come to
China to brainwash young students into accepting their belief system.

---The middle aged lotharios come to try to preach their brand of sexual liberation to their 20 year old female students.

---The fresh new business school grads come to teach in China to bolster their resumes back stateside and to preach to the unwashed the glories of capitalism.

---One Bahai teacher in one province achieved near messiah like status among his followers.

---The Zionists preach Zionism and potray Israel as being just like China and that the Palestinians are akin to Tebetans.

---The homosexual brigade is well represented and takes advantage of the naivety of young people in China to claim another convert.

---Crusaders of every stripe take centre stage at universities to spout their particular brand of Humanisn, environmentalism,
or materialism.

---The Africans are here to spread confidence games.

---About the only FTs in China without an agenda in the classroom are the Muslim Teachers.

Religion peddling like this is worse than crack cocaine.

You get these people into it but not truly understanding. They then take the arrogant parts of it that they are "Saved" and can do no wrong. all the while forgetting the humility of it. Especially after the missionary teacher leaves. So then you have an arrogant chinese person who thinks they can do no wrong cause they saved mixed in with the hyper capitalism the whole country is exhibiting.

At the end you have a person who falls into some category of zealot that the devil himself couldnt even create.

Now let the mainstream Christians dam me to hell. I would like to think that Jesus would not approve of this. He himself did not teach his lessons and leave quickly. He stayed true to the flock and guided them and protected them for a good long time, like any good shepherd or teacher does.

Bang on OP. These missionaries are just soldiers in disguise. Should all be shot as spies. They, being believers and all, should welcome the opportunity to enter the "Kingdom" they so zealously believe in.

Schools here are desperate for foreigners and so many turn a blind eye to the goings on of these scumbags. Call them anything you like, they have to forgive you, that's if they are real "Christians." Cockroaches, more like, hiding in the dark and secretly exploiting a bunch of naive kids.

So how many Christians are in China? There must be many because they are killed daily unless of course they attend the government sanctioned church.
If these missionaries were teaching in the US it would be a Christian funded institution not a public school where God has been kicked out, at least the Christian God.

So, are these students in China attending Christian funded schools?
If these are public funded schools, then is the Government in China for or against or just don't know that people in China are being taught Christianity under the guise of education? Is this the "brand" of Christianity that the Chinese government lets function in their government approved churches therefore it is allowed?

We can all look forward to the happy day when illegitimate regimes that refuse to respect freedom of religion as a universal human right are gone from the earth.

The totalitarian atheist Communist regime in Beijing will fall one day just as the one in Moscow did. Let us pray that the transition occurs without bloodshed.

Mark Twain on missionaries

"The first thing a missionary teaches a savage is indecency. He makes him put clothes on. He is as innocent and clean-minded up to that time as were our first parents before the Lord and not ashamed. He hid the knowledge of indecency from them; the missionary doesn’t"

"The missionaries braved a thousand privations to come and make them permanently miserable by telling them how beautiful and how blissful a place heaven is, and how nearly impossible it is to get there."

"Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day, Give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."

"I bring you the stately matron named Christendom, returning bedraggled, besmirched, and dishonored, from pirate raids in Kiaochow, Manchuria, South Africa, and the Philipines, with her soul full of meanness, her pocket full of boodle, and her mouth full of pious hypocrisies. Give her soap and towel, but hide the looking glass.- "

"O kind missionary, O compassionate missionary, leave China! Come home and convert these Christians."

"I do not know why we respect missionaries. Perhaps it is because they have not intruded here from Turkey or China or Polynesia to break our hearts by sapping away our children's faith & winning them to the worshop of alien gods. We have lacked the opporutnity to find out how a parent feels to see his child deriding & blaspheming the religion of its ancestors. We have lacked the opportunity of hearing a foreign missionary who has been forced upon us against our will lauding his own saints & gods & saying harsh things about ours. If some time or other, we shall have these experiences, it will probably go hard with the missionary ... The missionary has no wish to be an insulter, but how is he to help it? All his proposition are insults, word them as he may"

Suggesting that all orientals prounounce 'l' as 'r' not the other way around and that they would have no problem with prick shows a high degree of ignornace of Asia, language and cultural diversity in the region, and lingusitics.

In many parts of East China, Chinese people who speak Mandarin pronounce the "N" as "L". And throughout Asia, in places as Japan and Korea, regional dialects affect pronounciation.

So rethink your opinin Canadian LOSER

 Quoting: Skeptic the First

Activity outside of class is the university's business as they are the ones who arrange for the foreign teacher to work and live in China by providing a job and the neccessary government
resident permit. While the foreigner is in China, the university is responsible for the instructor.

Most, if not all university's in China, require that foreign teachers sign a SAFEA contract or a contract based on it. Terms of those contracts state quite clearly activity a foreign teacher must avoid:

4. Party B shall respect China's religious policy, and shall not conduct religious activities incompatible with the status of an expert.

All this assumes that the secular world is a completely unbiased objective place where everyone is allowed to develop their own opinions without outside pressure. Of course this is not the case, everyone is converted to some belief, some world view, the question is not whether we conform to a view but to which view we conform to. What missionaries do is provide people an alternative to the prevailing view. Rather than attack their methods you should take some time to consider whether it is possible that their message might be true. Respectfully, I have to point to a certain level of hypocrisy in a viewpoint that says other people cannot spread their own beliefs while firmly maintaining that this opinion itself is true and others should accept it. Perhaps we are all missionaries of some viewpoint or other.
