I didn't see the video though so I'm not sure if what he did with it would constitute "fair use" anyways.. either way hope zakk gets his videos back. a lesson to be learned here is always back up anything you aren't willing to part with.. these days it's so easy too as all you have to do is get an external hard drive and plug it right into your comp via usb. if your comp goes down you have it on the external HD and vice versa.

Just make a copy of the DVD of all the work you've done. I've heard it is possible to download the youtube videos, but for me they are flash-based and I need to buy a separate program to do that.

What, you didn't make a hard copy of all of your work, and everything was posted on youtube? Now that is funny. All this work attacking the establishment, then use the same establishment to post your work, and rely on the same establishment you are attacking to keep available the things that makes them look bad? So, who is left whistling in the dark?

To recap, let me get this straight, the luge video was from a person who was at the Olympic event, and not coming from the mainstream media? Or did the video originate from one of the corporate feeds? And the originator of the feed gave you permission to post the video? Oh, you didn't get permission. Suggest you write to the folks who made the video available and beg them for permission, and when they grant you permission, I bet all your missing videos will magically re-appear. If not the term "copyright infringement" comes to mind, you are lucky they don't sue. You could try this approach; call your lawyer, he needs the money to restore everything you didn't take the time to back up, and the laughs that you could actually be so dense. Maybe things will get so stirred up the mainstream media will notice and make a big stink about it, but I suspect the event will drift to oblivion and you will have to start from square one, all over again.
