Mid-life crisis?
I am not middle-aged, but have felt differently since just before Christmas:

I've started running, working out everyday, and eating better...for no real reason at all.

I'm spending more money on stuff like a bigger lcd tv, new cell phones...stuff I really don't need, but GOTTA have.

I'm more conscious of how I dress and my appearance.

My wife has noticed that I seem to be more independent.

I enjoy going out more often, with or without friends

Any other male just feel differently, seemingly out of nowhere?

Re: Mid-life crisis?
I also seem to be more personable and even flirt with women more (in a playful way).

Maybe you are becoming more self aware. Things going good with the marriage?

Seems to be. We had a fight the other day about me going out more lately. Keep in mind though that I was pretty much a homebody for the last few years; staying home when she went out with friends. That's when she said I was more independent.

But we've gotten past that and nothing seems different.

Well as long as she is cool with you exploring your options I see no real problem.

How long have you guys been together?

Seems to me your relationship is good. I would not push it too much with the flirting thing though.

What triggered all of this?

I've always been friendly with girls. It's just how I am.

And I have no clue what triggered this. That's my question..lol.

I was in highschool and my dad walked in one day through out all the beer and said that was it. No real reason just wanted to be a better man. Maybe it is more an issue of maturity than anything else.

Could be. I've always been mature and responsible for my age. I've heard that I have an "old soul" more than once. Just lately, I've felt more 18 than 30.

It's not really a problem or anything.

It's OK, it's totally normal. I've had strange symptoms from the time that I've turned 30, but they are slowly fading away (now I am 31). Some of the symptoms are that I've started staying more at home feeling more depressed and at the same time I've started acting like a child. I've started collecting old computers that I've always wanted (but couldn't have at a young age) from eBay even if I'll never use them. I also bought a telescope that I've always wanted. Just relax, have fun and, maybe, don't think of the past too much.

I wouldn't put it like that, but I've thought along those lines. Maybe it's because I wasn't a huge "party guy" in high school and college, so now maybe that part of me is expressing itself.
