United States 02/17/2010 11:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | can you explain the nine-tenths of a cent added to every gallon of gas? can you explain the nine-tenths of a cent added to every gallon of gas?
you cant give 1/10 of a cent in change so what happens to it?
so every gallon they sell, they make 1/10 of it FREE? non taxed maybe? i dont know.
every 10 gals = 1 free cent 'bonus'?
every 100 gals = $1
1000 gallons = $10
10,000 gals = $100
100,000 gals = $1000.
doesnt seem like much but you know SOMEWHERE someone is making a mint off that missing 1/10 i suspect. |

$2.499/gal X 10 gal. = $24.99 <---whole cents.
They do make possibly up to within $0.001 of 9 extra cents per 10 gallons, but it resets every 10 gallons. It is still taxed however. |
