US Congress Green Lights Domestic Terrorism

In a shocking move, the US federal congress approved a measure sanctioning the use of domestic terrorism and insurrection by US citizens.

The law, which can be found in the US legal code here, makes it legal for US citizens to attack and overthrow the federal government when the government engages in these acts:

* Imposes taxes without consent
* Deprives citizens of a trial by jury
* Rendition
* Subjects US citizens to foreign jurisdiction, such as international courts and law, that do not comply with the constitution.
* Renders the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
* Erects a multitude of new offices, which create “law” through regulation.
* Cuts off trade and erects barriers to trade.
* Engages in the use of private foreign mercenaries to wage war and police the population.
* And finally ignores all Petitions of public grievances.

Rep. Jefferson of Virginia was quoted as saying:

Experience shows us, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. Which is why I have given my approval of this measure.

Also, given the recent outrageous actions of congress in bailing out commercial banks, I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence.

With this new law, we hope the people will finally put an end to this nonsense.

The law declares that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Which means the whole of the citizenry must consent to governments actions in order for the government to retain its legitimacy.

A recent poll by Rasmussen Reports states that only 21% of the public feel the current federal government has the consent of the governed, which does not bode well for US federal officials. This makes the law particularly stunning, considering officials are basically demanding to have themselves removed from office by force.

Given the law, this effectively declares the US federal government to be illegitimate, akin to a banana republic.

Further, the law outlines the legitimate use of force by the public. The law declares that when the government engages in the above acts, public insurrection becomes legitimate.
