Original Message I just made a thread a few days ago warning that universal background checks would require a universal federal registry to effectively enforce it.

you can see my previous thread here:
"Imminent threat to the 2nd amendment right now! NOT assault weapon ban or mag cap, its much worse !"

Today on Fox News Sunday, LaPierre is correctly equating universal background checks with a universal registry..

"NRA likens universal checks to gun registry"

The NRA's Wayne LaPierre tells "Fox News Sunday" that background checks for all gun purchases would lead to a universal registry of gun owners. Critics say such a registry could lead to taxes on guns or to confiscation.

Fox News is running replays of this. If anyone has the ability to record it for youtube, it would be very helpful.

The enemy are claiming that most NRA supporters support universal background checks. If true, its only because they dont understand what it means to actually enforce such a law.

In order for there to be universal federal background checks that are enforced, there absolutely has to be a universal federal registration in place.

Without a universal federal registration, anyone can still buy/sell/trade with anyone they want, and there is no way for government to prove when and with whom that transaction took place, who owned the firearm and when, so the individuals can claim anything they want, so there is no way to enforce the background check system.

Current background checks are enforced upon FFL's only, through their contract(license) with the government. The current background check is not enforceable upon private transactions.
Without a contract upon individuals(registration) there is no way to enforce a univ background check system upon them. They will be able to do as they please with firearm transactions and law enforcement cant do anything.

We've got to spread this message far and wide. The push for universal background checks is really a push for universal federal registration in disguise.

This is exactly what was done in England and Australia. Registration, then confiscation followed.
