Pole Shift 2012 - What would happen to you if the Earth stopped rotating?
You want the good news first or the bad news?

the good news first>>

On the plus side>>

THE FACT IS THAT PEOPLE FROM ANCIENT CULTURES WITNESSED THESE EVENTS AND LIVED AND REMAINED ON EARTH TO TELL ABOUT IT.

No , ......Gravity does not switch off if the Planet stops rotating :)

quote>>
The Earth has mass, just like every other solid object does (including you). It is the Earth's mass that causes it to have gravity, and so in order to not have gravity the Earth would have to not have mass. But if the Earth didn't have mass, it wouldn't be there anymore!

quote:
The conventional dogma is that, during such an event, there would be less gravity causing people, animals, and objects to float off the planet. However, there is no reference to this anti-gravity phenomenon in ancient literature regarding this event. This may mean that either Earth’s core continues rotating even when the surface stops and reverses direction or that the long held theory on how Earth’s gravity is generated is faulty. The fact is that people from ancient cultures witnessed these events and lived and remained on Earth to tell about it. If they would have witnessed everything floating off the surface of Earth including: people, animals, trees, rocks, water, etc. they probably would have mentioned it.

sit tight, cos here comes the bad news>>

quote:
Ancient cultures describe a period of three days where the Sun does not rise or set. This could mean the process of slowing down and stopping is short, then the Earth sits still for three days before starting to rotate again in the opposite direction. Even if the slowdown is somewhat gradual, there is still the pure physics of so much mass in motion. Have you ever seen anything traveling at 1,667 km/hr slow down quickly? Probably not since most man-made object can’t travel that fast. Even the speed of sound is only about 1,230 km/hr (761 mi/hr). In other words, this would be even more dramatic than trying to quickly slow down a jet traveling at Mach1!!!!!

In other words, its much like being on top of a ball bearing!
the upper rim starts to move , and the inner rim starts to move at a different speed.

quote:
Now imagine that you are a human on the surface of Earth when such an event occurs. There you are standing outside and looking up at the sky thinking “oh, what a glorious day”. Then all of the sudden, the ground starts moving. Maybe it starts slowly, but either way, you can not keep your footing or run to a safe location. Pretty soon, the ground under your feet is moving faster until your feet are no longer even touching the ground. Instead you are either being tossed across the ground like tumbleweed or pinned against some physical object while being crushed by objects flying through the air or by the pure force of air pressing against your body.

The effects on Earth from such an event would be nothing less than cataclysmic. Scientists describe Earth as having a very thin hard crust that covers a thick layer of mantle (semi-liquid magma) that is several thousand kilometers deep. At the center of Earth are two types of core, an outer core (theorized to also be liquid) and a hard inner core at the center (theorized to be iron). This means we basically have a hard thin surface (the crust that we live on) floating over a hot slippery semi-liquid (magma). At the present moment all of which are in motion.

Earth’s circumference at the equator is approximately 40,000km and makes one full rotation in every 24 hours. This means that the surface of Earth is in constant motion and traveling at an average ground speed of approximately 1,667 km/hr (1,035 mi/hr) at the equator. Of course these ground speeds are reduced significantly as you move away from the equator. When you imagine Earth’s crust slowing down abruptly and eventually coming to a stop, you can begin to see the potential for a disaster of cataclysmic proportions.

Yes without gravity the Earth's mass would come apart.

A stoppage of rotation does not affect gravity so one will not float off the surface, lol.

Re: Pole Shift 2012 - What would happen to you if the Earth stopped rotating?
This is complete bullshit from start to finish.

The Earth cannot just 'stop' rotating. F=MA, people. The Earth's mass times is moving, and the force that would be required to halt that movement is incomprehensible.

You can take every nuclear weapon on the planet and detonate them all and multiply that by a million million times and it STILL wouldn't be even in the ballpark to halt the Earth's rotation.

The heat released by the energy required to halt the Earth would be more than sufficient vaporize the seas and melt the entire crust and burn the atmosphere away. Nothing would survive -- not a microbe, not a virus.

So the ancient peoples did NOT witness a rotation halt. We are not going to witness a rotation halt.

And gravity doesn't have a damned thing to do with it.

Did any of you people attend high school? Finish seventh grade?

Stop being fucking stupid.

Wouldn't another object of intense magnetic pull coming close to the Earth mess up the earth's rotation?

You are describing crustal displacement without naming it. Are you a Zeta follower?

I doubt there would be any ancients to truly leave historical records of it, no one would have survived. There must have been another phenomena in play here.

The Earth can not stop spinning.

Its called the Law of Conservation of Angular Momemtum.

You have a huge torque arm spinning. The force it took to stop it would destroy the Earth.

I would like to hear more about the common story of the 3 days of day.

The article did not say that it would be like hitting a brick wall and happen suddenly.

Just because you can not comprehend something doesn't change it.

You are telling us what the ancients witnessed when you where unable to comprehend this post in English?

What Brain dead idiots actually think this? Any one who knows basic physics taught in school would know that rotation causes things to go away from center or rotation not towards it(think of a sling shot)! so if any thing the rotation is making the Earths pull a bit less than it would be if the world didn't spin at all.
