This “rash of recent failures in the buried piping systems of nuclear reactors” has prompted three congressmen to ask the Government Accountability Office to investigate “the integrity, safety, inspection, maintenance, regulations and enforcement issues surrounding buried piping at our nation’s nuclear power plants,” according to a public statement Thursday. BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 03/05/2010 03:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been helping out a relative who has a plumbing business. In the past week and a half, 90 percent of our jobs have been broken, underground pipes. In the 30+ years he's been in business, he's never seen anything like it. Quoting: Rev. SpiralgazerWe're on the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii. No earthquakes nearby (Big Island is over 500 miles away) and we've had very little rain the past couple of months. Something is shifting underground. Yep, seems like every time I turn around I hear of another water main bursting nearby. I guess I need to stop turning around so much...Zeta's right again... Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

Wraithwynd User ID: 717743 United States 03/05/2010 05:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Infrastructure is old and worn out. Expect to hear/experience pipe breaking, electric power failures, sewage problems, bridges falling, etc. 80% of the USA's infrastructure is in need of repair, with about 20% of that in serious need of repair, with about 10% of that 80% near failure (or should be condemned). Its not pretty, and it will not be cheap. We wasted trillions on other stuff when we should have been investing back into the infrastructure. These are not necessarily old pipes we're dealing with, some have been in the ground only a few years. "Imagination is more important than knowledge" - Albert Einstein revstargazer (at) hotmail.com |

Nearly ALL dams in US are near or past their original life expectancy....they NEVER planned on replacing them...everything was basically built with the same expiration date....coincidence? I highly doubt it! |
