Just looking to see if others here on GLP have been to Shemya Island. And was wondering what they did there and when?

Not to many knew about that place, and less have ever been there.

I was there in the early 90's as a contractor. Man that place was cool in its own right.


I did, but everything I saw is confidential. Big flat treeless rock with fun caves, and Cobra Ball & Cobra Dane. Huge f'ing radar array, and poor guys that hadn't seen a female in a year.
