Or a moon converted into a space station, and mined to facilitate the manufacture of very large vessels for the exodus to earth or for exploration of the stars. If we add the abundance of methane on Jupiter we could assume Jupiter as a refueling station for the long trip out of solar system. Off topic How does Jupiter's atmosphere contain so much methane? The only way I have heard of to create methane is biological processes. The conversion of methane to good usable hydrogen should be very easy using pyrolysis in a vacuum such as space. Put a large amount of methane in a large vessel such as a hollowed out asteroid and put it close enough to the sun to raise the temperature to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, the hydrogen bonds break and you have a container full of hydrogen and carbon no O2 so it doesn't burn. |

Probably because I am reading a sci-fi story which involves them at the moment, basically hollowed out asteroid rocks with biospheres installed in the caverns, slowly the crossing interstellar void over hundreds and thousands of years, with generations of beings living and dying in em for the duration. And also 2) how the dents in the surface of this weird moon are so symmetrical, as if they are satellite dishes. Hoglund says that Mars has huge craters that are actually tunnels to inner caverns. This is way the aliens build. |

Quoting: Ethericplane 870633The Russians have "lost" two probes around the Martian moon Phobos, but how, and why? Z. Sitchen has chapters on how the Anunnaki used Mars to once ferry stolen resources from Earth to Nibiru. Is it a well camouflaged space station? "There is something wrong with Phobos. The martian moon looks like a metallic solid, but it's not as dense as a rocky solid should be. Some researchers think Phobos might be riddled with vast caverns; others say it is just a "rubble pile" masquerading as a solid body. To solve the mystery, Europe's Mars Express spacecraft is making a series of close Phobos-flybys this month. High-res photos could be available as early as this Wednesday. Stay tuned!" (from space weather) [link to antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov] "In July 1988, the Russians launched two unmanned satellite probes - Phobos 1 and phobos 2 - in the direction of Mars, and with the primary intention of investigating the planet's mysterious moon, Phobos. Phobos 1 was unfortunately lost en route two months later, reportedly because of a radio command error. Phobos 2 was also ultimately lost in the most intriguing circumstances, but not before it had beamed back certain images and information from the planet Mars itself. Phobos 2 arrived safely at Mars in January 1989 and entered into and orbit around Mars as the first step at its destination towards its ultimate goal: to transfer to an orbit that the would make it fly almost in tandem with the Martian moonlet called Phobos (hence the spacecrafts name) and explore the moonlet with highly sophisticated equipment that included two packages of instruments to be placed on the moonlet's surface. All went well until Phobos aligned itself with Phobos, the Martian moonlet. Then, on 28th March, the Soviet mission control centre acknowledged sudden communication "problems" with the spacecraft; nd Tass the, the official Soviet news agency, reported that "Phobos 2 had failed to communicate with Earth as scheduled after completing an operation yesterday around the Martian moon Phobos. Scientists at mission control have been unable to establish stable radio contact." [link to www.informantnews.com] Now Europe is sending up another one! "We discovered what you call America" |

It is mostly likely a collection of larger chunks of rock that may have 'caves' in them mixed with a bit of dust, gravel and various sizes of debris. Its density is much lower most likely due to the cavities between the debris. It is possible that it has the core of a burnt out comet - say dirty ice surrounded by bits of rocky and metallic debris.
