Does marijuana hinder the ability to remember your dreams?

Without the dreams my life is somehow uncompleted and I´d like to know, how long it actually does take to start dreaming vivedly, after having stoped potting...?

Yes, it fucks with your sleep. For years when I was younger I used to smoke, and could never remember my dreams. Once I quit, now I remember them every night.

Yes, the Mary Jane interfere with the dreaming memorizing. I just stop to remember my dreams after five years of smoking. When I give a break, I remember my dreams.

I think that when we smoke our brain must use the same process need to remember the dreams during the sleep. So when you go sleep, you do not need or cannot remember the dream because the process was already used.

Interesting, when someone is high, it can let the imagination fly away like in a dream. It just a matter to link this with something pleasure. I like to listen music and let my imagination work as a dream, using the music to shape the sensations.





I saw an interesting lecture with Dr. Dennis McKenna, Terence's big brother, at the University of Hawaii a few years ago. His talk was on marijuana, short term memory and dream recall.

He explained how much emphasis (and value) our culture places on the ability to recall mundane information. Someone is considered 'smart' in our society if they can rattle off a bunch of facts and remember all the petty details of modern life, such as quoting data verbatim and remembering strings of unassociated digits like bank account numbers.

Then he pointed out that this focus on short term memory is causing us to disconnect from other crucial mental processes and consequently we are losing contact with the deeper parts of our psyche.

As a result, we have to process all the symbolic stimuli during our sleep cycle, the only chance the brain gets to escape this narrow focus and expand.

He went on to say that the chemicals in marijuana stimualte our ability to comprehend and contemplate the more 'arcane' aspects of life while conscious, at times overriding the short term memory function in favor of larger insights.

Since marijuana users process their symbolic experiences regularly on a conscious level, they don't have to rely on the dream state to deal with this issues. Consequently, it is not as vital for them to consciously 'recall' their dreams.

Fascinating theory, no?

smoking cannabis seems to have an effect on sleeping patterns, especially in the REM-sleep, where we dream at most.

Weed sends you into deepsleep i never remeber my dreams after a good smoke and always remeber them when i dont smoke, when i smoke i fall alseep strait away and when i dont smoke it takes more then an hour or two.

What about cigarettes and alcohol the effect they have on a person far out ways any effect pot has, yet they are legal.

TIME for double standards is over; either legalize/decriminalize pot or ban cigarettes and alcohol as well.

Where do people come up with this shit? If you grow organically and don't put toxic chemicals on your plants you won't have toxic chemicals on your plants.
