They are most likely surveying households to see how much fire power is contained in them if there is any. Most of those choppers have Magnetometer rods that stick out from the nose part. These can detect guns and other things that might be in the house. Lots of anti-gov folks in arkansas and I'm sure they are getting an idea what they are up against before they plan to make their move here soon. |

Jonesboro is in the center of North East Arkansas. The black helicopters looked military, but they were unknown to me. They were round instead of angular looking. They had one set of blades, not two. But they were kind of big. They were not shiny black, but a dull black, and extremely quiet. You could barely hear them as they flew over. |

The Shirley [Arkansas] MOA covers a large section of North Central Arkansas with LRAFB on the southern edge. All kinds of military aircraft in AR. A-10 base in Fort Smith. Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Chaffee. C-130's out of Jacksonville. See Chinooks transporting to and from Chaffee frequently. Used to wave at the C130 pilots as they passed over the hay fields in our farm. Before they switched to A-10's, the F16's would occasionally fly over the creek at 400-500 feet. Very rural area...no one to complain. Scares the shit out of you if your fishin' though. |

A Blackhawk was flying and hovering over parts of the town like it was looking for something. Other Blackhawks have flown over town. Groups of the Chinooks have flown over. The most disturbing was a squad of 3 Apache attack choppers. Gave me a little chill. |
