The name "Macedonia" originally refered to the historic region of ancient-Macedon in Northern-Greece. This place has been connected geographically and culturally to the Hellenic-world for millenniums. Geographical-Macedonia is different, it includes FYRoM which has a 38% stake, Bulgaria, which has 9% stake and Albania, which has a miniscule 1% stake. 48% of greater-Macedonian territory is outside of Greece but the Greeks dont mind, because none of that territory was ever a part of the ancient-Kingdom of Macedon. Greece holds 52% of geographical-Macedonia, it constitutes the area covered by the original Kingdom, exactly as described by Strabo, the ancient-geographer.

FYRoM, being recognized as the "Republic of Macedonia" is appropriating the Macedonian-name in it's entirety, at the expense and exclusions of its neighbours. A geographic-term which straddles over more than one country cannot be assumed
or usurped exclusively by one of them. There is no country called "The Republic of Scandinavia" just as there is no country called "The Republic of Silesia" why should the rules change accomodate FYRoM.

Macedonia - Scandinavia - Silesia are modern examples of geographic-terms straddling over more than one country...common-sense dictates that those names cannot be assumed, usurped or appropraited exclusively by one of them.

FYRoM holds 38% of geographic-Macedonian territory, which is not the ancient-Kingdom of Macedon but rather Paeonia and Dardania. There is nothing Macedonian in FYRoM - not the land, not the peoples, why should they covet a name which does not belong to them unless it is for sinister reasons and motives.

There are young Slavic children in FYRoM who see Greece as an occupying power holding 52% of Macedonian territory they believe belongs to them...brainwashed by the Makedonists, Indoctrinated on their Ideology which teaches young Slavic children to see themselves as Macedonians and to see Greeks as the enemy.

Greeks despair but we No give-up - we shall continue to defend Hellenism and protect our cultural-heritage...Come Hell or High Water!
