Free Planet (OP) User ID: 959150 United Kingdom 05/06/2010 04:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | From 1975 UKIP's Lord Pearson was involved in the so-called Savonita Affair at Lloyd’s of London. His refusal to accept a claim involving cars supposedly lost at sea, but later found to be on sale on the Italian black market, led to reform and a new Act of Parliament. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 960619 Greece 05/06/2010 04:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Quoting: Anonymous Coward 960619 UKIP candidate Nigel Farage was involved in a dramatic plane crash this morning. The former MEP member was injured when his light plane nosedived into the ground during flight to promote UKIP with a banner. Eyewitnesses told how the pilot and Mr Farage were in the front seat of the plane when it banked and the promotional banner became tangled around the tail fin causing it to plummet to the ground. It was reported that a blood-covered Mr Farage and the pilot were still trapped in the wreckage but both were still alive. MORE to follow. Well, UKIP's all over the BBC now! :) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 962540Thread: shocking UKIP betrayal of the trust of their voters and of the interests of Britain Well, I think most of us have seen through the tactics put to use here. You can't really be for independence anymore, without the automatic racist!, xenophobe!, nazi! etc etc instant labelling. Works like a charm, too. Peace. |

Well as long as he's still alive it might get him more votes. Yeah, Ex-President Chen in Taiwan had an "assasination" attempt on him on the eve of the election that he was behind in the polls for... ...he ended up winning the election although his wound looked more like a self-inflicted scratch on his stomach. Not saying it's the same in this case, though you never know. Your day will come... |

Not saying it's the same in this case, though you never know. I'm not saying he did it on purpose, but the crash may help him get votes. Farage is standing against the Speaker of the House, so he needs a miracle to win that seat. As I said above though, I think he might be more seriously hurt than UKIP are letting on. |

Quoting: lime flavouredYes, this is an assured vote-winning gambit, if you can manage the RISK of the VENTURE - and I'm sure a graduate of the London School of Economics who's gone face to face with the power of Europe on a daily basis as an MEP understands the concept of risk by now. For me, it's a coin-toss whether it was a staged vote-catching plan or not. Stranger things have happened, like two steel buildings falling of their own volition due to kerosene fires on 9-11-2001, for example. |
