The oil blows out sideways and then up to the surface. Therefore any attempt to put a cover over it will result in the cover being blown off to the side. That's what really happened to the cement dome. Short of using explosives, there's no other way to plug the leak. If the explosives fail, consider the Gulf and the Atlantic Ocean gone. They aren't trying to cover, cap it, stop it or anything like that with these "Domes"...all these do is suck up the oils after it blows out...it's ALL these things CAN do... and so far they aren't even doing that... These things are an exercise to appease the public...nothing more...they do not, can not and never were meant to address the real problem.
