WHY MUSIC LIFTS one UP ? | |
Funney (OP) User ID: 78211 Czechia 05/17/2010 07:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hearing is just the ability of our ears to discern sound vibrations touching our body (ear drums). That's important when you start to consider music. Music literally touches our bodies, so listening to music isn't just an intellectual process. Music literally makes you feel good, because music vibrations are bouncing off your body as you listen. That's why the sounds of music are so much more important to me than musical lyrics. To me, it's the sound that makes music so different than most other forms of art. If I want a good story, I can read a book. If I want to hear words put in a pleasing fashion, I can read poetry out loud. So it's the sound of music that sets it apart, and it's the sensual soundwaves associated with music (and not the intellectual connection we have to the lyrics) which is going to improve our mood. I'm making a generalization, of course. I have a good friend who loves the stories that songs tells. You give him a musician with a six-string and a few funny lyrics and he's instantly in a better mood. That's every bit as legitimate of a reason for listening to music. It's just not how music affects me. The point being, music has different effects on people. I'm arguing, though, that if you want music to put you in a good mood quickly, you're probably better off finding the most pleasing sounds and most interesting patterns of sounds, and the above genres of music are what I personally have found to be the best music. moral reasoning takes about 250 miliseconds we make errors in between perception->relation->behaviour |

Yes, music should work without words! Music is in fact one of the most "redundant" thing on earth, but so uplifting... It refers to deep order in nature. TEOTWAIKI User ID: 37254198 Canada 06/18/2013 04:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Funny thing happens at work when I put on my headphones with spiritual music to drowned out the chaos... A constant stream of my archon-possessed "colleagues" come by to interrupt and get me to take off my headphones. Apparently there's something about the brainwaves that result from listening to uplifting music that pisses off whatever is controlling this matrix. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10102672 Denmark 06/18/2013 04:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yess true. But there is a lot of music today that makes me feel realy bad. These days i prefere old music, clasical or old jazz from the 20s country from the god ol days.Ive worked as a dj for over 20 years and have a couple of tousen records and 9 different formats of music (cd's vinyl dat minidisc and so on) Teckno was once new and fresh now it infesting almost all musicforms There is getting fewer and fewer people that can realy play a instrument. Listen to: Ravel - Daphnis et Chloe - Munch if you want to reach higher levels, its music who actualy will raise your vibrations instead of making you more stupid as most modern music will do. |
