Maybe the rumors that only through the use of a nuclear weapon could the oil leak in the Gulf be stopped weren't really rumors.

Why is it that this info has to come from overseas instead of being reported directly by the US press?

I still think the risks outweigh the benefits since it could fracture the rock sufficiently that one could end up with an unconrollable leak.

IF they are going to do something like this how about a couple of tests first? Sure nuclear tests are prohibitted but this is a case where I would want to see some real world tests first since the repercussions of a failed nuke blast would definitely be horrific.
