It's just the lighting. It's always been these colors coming from the riser.

Because now presumably it is mixed with the MUD they were pumping into the well.

Some people are also theorizing that the lighting is now different and the color of the plume looks different as a result.

Actually this is optimistic, it doent take in consideration the main problem. The enourmous gas reservoir that is under there, as i sad many time run under most of america, you just need to hope this particular section is NOT connected with the rest... but I have unfortunatly doubts that in fact it is.
