why does google maps censor locations like north korea, while bing maps does not?

microsoft shows ALL the city labels for north korea ... and most seem to end in "dong"

i find that interesting. why is google hiding this from us ?

I'll tell you something weird, Google will blur out all the dams on the Catawba river in NC, but not any of the dams on the PeeDee river that's right next to it. WTF?

No shit Google's on the take. They are the most effective information compiler in the world.

Google censors all kinds of weird shit.They will show you area 51 but not North Korea.

They're currently censoring(Big time censoring) what appears to be a large scale oil/gas drilling project in Northwest Territories in Canada. It's actually quite strange and more censored than anything else I've ever seen on google maps, strangely you can still do street view but the area is covered in thick fog, and wont let you walk and a small portion of road (the fog even looks photo shopped) and the area right before you hit the censored fog part, is bright and sunny...creepy...check it out here's the co-ords 67.179711,-135.821486

I started looking at North Korea with Bing maps and I was checking out Pyongyang. I noticed there was almost no cars anywhere as if it was a freaking ghost town. Then all of the sudden I stumbled upon this road with what looks like tens of thousands of people all going into a bunker of sorts.

its like solid masses of ants, moving in unison.

Not many people have cars in NK as they have no money and are poor.
The only people that have cars are high ups in the current regime.
People massed is most likely military training or just a drill for retaliation
to an invasion which they always think will happen at anytime.
Very fucked up place to go and see, watch this great Vice 3 part video
and you will be amazed at how screwed up it is there and how all the
people are brainwashed.
