Toothache tooth pain, fast pain relief home remedy | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1018260 United States 07/05/2010 02:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | P.S. Get antibiotics for the infection as soon as possible. Also, if the area is still somewhat sore, you can ease this pain too, but with a different substance. Tuck's hemorrhoid pads, when squeezed, release the shrinking/soothing fluid they are packed in. Drip a little of this over the infected tooth or into the cavity. It will almost always instantly stop the pain, but only if you bleach it first. I've tried the generic brand, it didn't work. |

It is a like a form of bleach without the side effects. google MMS. I have had two abcesses within the last 6 month. Both cleared up within 12 hrs. I think bleach would work the same way and for many is more accessable. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1018260 United States 07/05/2010 02:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My wife hates bleach, she used clove oil, never killed the infection, but it did help some with the pain. But the only clove oil that worked was the stuff found at walgreens made specifically for toothaches. The other clove oils on the market are too weak to help. Too much bleach in the mouth will eventually cause blistering. For severe pain, use half and half, for less severe, use 1/3 bleach and 2/3's water. |

Quoting: SixEyedcheeseballI actually tried that before bleach, didn't work for me. I also tried gasoline. That did not work either. Then i tried pure grain alcohol. The PGA killed the infection, somewhat, but left a dull soreness that came back really strong. So far, the best I have found is the bleach method, but if those other methods worked for you guys, I am happy for you. I know how tooth ache pain feels. I had one for a week, couldn't eat. A very miserable time, it was. |

Reducing the infection means reducing the inflamation, means reducing the swelling, means reducing the pain. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1025655Lysine is cheap and it works extremely well. I just researched that. It appears it is safe in high doses, unless you are diabetic, then it can give you low blood sugar, so be careful. Also, what do you use to kill the pain before the doses of Lysine begin to take effect? |

People can die from tooth infections.....so dont bugger about with home remedies. A simple infected tooth led to the death of a 27-year-old man in in Adelaide four years ago, prompting calls from a coroner for people not to ignore dental health. [link to www.theage.com.au] If the patient ignores his pain and does not seek dental help, the tooth abscess can extend into tissue spaces causing facial and neck swelling such as cellulites, tissue space infections, and Ludwig angina that manifests as fever, malaise, difficulty in swallowing, breathing, generalized barteremia, septicemia, suffocation and even death if adequate emergency operations are not done. I got some off of ebay for $13 which will last years. As you only use drops of it with citric acid. The guy was great and shiped the next day. Its good for a lot of other things also and you can take it internally. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 779693 United States 07/05/2010 03:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oil of clove is also good for toothaches. There is also a plant called "toothache plant". You chew on the leaves for pain relief. I wouldn't personally put bleach in my mouth. Maybe peroxide, though I don't think it would be as effective. If I were going to try this, I'd probably use tea tree oil, which is about as strong as bleach at killing bacteria. It isn't meant for internal use either though. |

Try Swanson Vitamins. Very highly recommended by lots of people, with affordable products. I bought a huge bottle of clove oil from them for $5. It's $10 for a 4 oz. bottle of tea tree oil in an opaque glass bottle (the way it's supposed to be sold). |

[link to www.healthmantra.com] This is the ideal solution, and I wish everyone could afford to. I know a lot of people w/o health insurance who can't afford a visit to the dentist. A tooth extraction can cost $200. If you want to try to save one with a root canal and crown, I know it costs about $25 for the root canal and $500 for the crown--and that's with my insurance paying 80% of the root canal and 50% of the crown. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1018260 United States 07/05/2010 04:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't have health insurance, and most dentists want paid up front. Also, to those who think bleach is unsafe, you better stop drinking tap water. Most munisipalities use a type of bleach to kill the bacteria in the water and you can smell it when you go to get a glass of water. Bleach in the concentrations I am talking about is safe. Actually, toothpaste is less safe to use than bleach. I can't believe all of you don't know what they put in your water.... also, this method of using bleach would be good to use in the field as a temporary treatment to flush wounds until you can get sewed up properly. ....... Bleach ingredients in unscented bleach.. "Household bleaches usually contain sodium hypochlorite in a 3% to 6% solution. Some sodium hydroxide (lye) is added to keep the pH high to avoid decomposition. If the solution is made more acidic, sodium hypochlorite will dissociate, producing chlorine gas and oxygen. " Also from this web page: "Sodium hypochlorite is also used to disinfect water supplies and swimming pools, although calcium hypochlorite in powder or pellect form is also used, due to the convenience of the solid form. Sodium hypochlorite is too hygroscopic (it absorbs water from the air) to be used conveniently in solid form. " [link to sci-toys.com] |
