Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Years ago, just driving through Gary IN would turn your car black from the soot. Because of a variance, five million gallons of raw sewage is pumped into Tampa bay FL every day. The bay already has 15+ feet the sewage on the bottom. It is thought that trying to clean it up would do more damage that just leaving it there. |

Went to a restaurant, we were the only white people there. They refused to serve us because we were white. All the non-white people received service. Got up and left after being ignored for 45 minutes. Will never stop in that town again. |

Interdimensional warrior 12/08/2005 10:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Texas is a polluted shithole where chemicals are dumped into lakes, the water table is contaminated and the people have a general disprespect for nature. The air quality varies from "can barely breath" to "nasty, unhealthy stench". The smell of chemicals, chickenshit and car exhuast permeates the air. When a persons´ washing machine wears out here they don´t bring it to the landfill, they throw it out on a country road. The roadside is littered with furniture , tv´s and trash rednecks have thrown out, and hardly a backroad exists without an "unofficial" dump. Some of the lakes are so polluted the chemicals eat monofilimant fishing line, and slicks of chemicals can be seen on the surface. In the oil fields the polution is worst yet, with the unwanted byproducts of the oil industry being discarded on site in pits, where it jsut soaks into the water table. Radioactive waste from the oil industry is discarded in local lakes, or buried on site. Very little of these dangerous chemicals are disposed of properly , and are absorbed into the enviroment. As jsut a typical example, the International Paper mill in Domino Texas is allowed to release dioxin into the Sulpher river, causing massive fich die offs in times of low water flow. The fish are absorbing these chemicals, and people are eating the fish. No warnings are given. All East Texas lakes are polluted with mercury, and warning signs for the contaminant are posted at nearly every lake, with warnings not to consume more than a few ounces a month of fish. East Texas is the nastiest place I´ve ever been, except Louisiana, which is just as bad. The people who live here have the Christian mindset that nature was provided by god for man to ruin. |

I saw some pretty strange looking people in Arkansas, but there were a lot of pretty trees. Baton Rouge LA had a very scary feeling, voodooish, couldn't get out of there fast enough. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 133743 United States 08/21/2006 01:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Georgia is one of the most beautiful states. Even Atlanta is filled with trees & nice old and new homes so for a large city it's not bad. It's just getting very overcrowded in many areas. Just south of Atlanta there are some ugly areas with lots of trucks and some nasty small towns, but some nice ones too. Hordes of illegal immigrants have crowded into some bedroom communities also and have driven many of the former residents out. But much of the state is flowing with rivers, mountain streams, large tracts of green, fertile rolling hills and many thousands of acres of state and national forests. The state has a very good climate (except for the humidity) and a great topographical diversity. It has the coastline with Savannah and the swampland to the south and the Blue Ridge Mountains to the north. If you call Georgia the greatest shithole there ever was you must not have traveled much. I vote for Louisians - especially New Orleans (even before Katrina, scary place) and Texas - esp. Houston (eek), and oh can't forget Newark (PU) - but there's a lot of beautiful countryside in New Jersey too. |

Bubba User ID: 688892 United States 05/27/2009 12:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kentucky is the biggest shithole in America by far. You have to realize that people in Kentucky are 20 years behind what everywhere else is. They're still figuring out this device called a computer and how it works. Its like living in a third world country in Kentucky full of white trash and ignorant hilljacks. Sad but true. |
the prophecyer User ID: 215109 United States 05/27/2009 12:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kentucky, West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana are good contenders |
