Melatonin banned = spend more time in the dark where your brain produces it naturally, over a period of a month your sleeping pattern will become properly mediated by it again.

They would rather sell you poison, since melatonin is banned get it the real natural way...

Also found this:

Guess which country doesn't allow you to buy Melatonin over the counter any more? The UK has decided that Melatonin should not be available to the general public.

Melatonin is a powerful immune-boosting hormone which is produced by the pineal gland in your brain. Melatonin is known and used widely as s sleep-promoter. It is also used by thousands of travellers to get over jet-lag. Melatonin seems to also posses powerful cancer-fighting abilities. It stimulates T-Helper Cells and stimulates the tumour-killing abilities of natural killer cells by increasing the white blood cell production of cytokine Interleukin-2 (IL-2).

Melatonin has strong sedative properties and helps reduce anxiety, panic attacks, migraines and helps with sleeping problems. It is also a primary regulator of your immune system and a strong anti-oxidant.

and all the things promoted in todays world, long term stress and lots of it with constant fear of what ever they decide to make up and push the fear of God into us, strange lighting (un-natural) starbucks coffee shops everywhere, big phamra meds, EM fields all of these decrease out natrual surply..

Melatonin is dangerous because it makes you sleepy. On the other hand it is the best antioxidant against cancer, it makes you look young and feel healthy. Sex drive decreases.

Melatonin also kills motivation because you just wanna sleep, be far away from life itself.

It makes you feel more like a mummy than an alive human being.

Re: Why is Melatonin banned in the UK?
Dried cherries are a good source, if she needs it now. A quarter cup should be plenty, too many can cause loose bowels, as the fruit contains sorbitol.

They will do in a pinch, if you can't get melatonin.

[link to www.nbcnews.com]

Reiter recently put some hard science behind the cherry folklore. He conducted a five-month study and found that tart cherries contain significant amounts of melatonin — a hormone produced in the brain’s pineal gland that has been credited with slowing the aging process, and fighting insomnia and jet lag. It’s also being studied as a potential treatment for cancer, depression and other diseases and disorders

Right, stop banning natural products.

Of course, melatonin is in all kinds of mammals. So if you are eating beef, beware, cause you are consuming an illegal substance.

Silly isn't it?!?!

Re: Why is Melatonin banned in the UK?
Melatonin is avail on prescription. Safer to get synthetic one as the one extracted from animal (pineal gland /brains) can be contaminated by viruses. This may be a good reason to ban natural supplements (which is a poorly regulated market with a lot of risks from leftover chemicals/ metals used in preparing the " natural" goodies..what aboutjust eating organic fruit and veg and sleep instead of stuffing with pills?)
