If you want to see evidence of paranormal powers, study the research at [link to smphillips.8m.com] [link to smphillips.8m.com] It would win the prize if Randi were honest. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1068031thank you for the articles, they will be an interesting read. but how are the tests rigged ? from what i read about the applications. [link to forums.randi.org] they accepted the tests that should be easy to do if they were able to do what they claimed. i don't see how it can be rigged. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 900962People with REAL paranormal abilities would never use them to pass tests, showoff or profit from them in any way... ...OR... they would lose these gifts... As well they should! Period. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 900962This is why: "In all cases, applicant will be required to perform a preliminary test either before an appointed representative, if distance and time dictate that need, or in a location where a member or representative of the JREF staff can attend. This preliminary test is to determine if the applicant is likely to perform as promised during a formal test, using the agreed-upon protocol. To date, no applicant has passed the preliminary test, and this has eliminated the need for formal testing in those cases. There is no limit on the number of times an applicant may re-apply, but re-application can take place only after 12 months have elapsed since the completion of the preliminary test" [link to www.randi.org] |

Randi makes sure his evaluation is negative so that the examination cannot proceed to the formal test. In other words, you have someone who has already made his mind up and who makes sure that no format tests whose protocols could be criticized by others ever takes place. |
