DO others here on GLP have weird neighbors? WHAT the hell is wrong with people today? This is a neighbor complaint thread.

Yeah, I guess my neighbors are kinda weird. Weird to me because they're so damn 'normal'. 2 cars, three kids, picket fence, churchgoing, dad works, mom stays home with the kids, polite to a fault.

I really don't like that type. I guess I'm their weird neighbor. Anyway, Steve (the dad) started coming over, trying to be friendly I guess, but I really would rather be left alone. So, one time when he came over unannounced to chat. I knew it was him, so I answered the door naked as a jaybird. He was uncomfortable, of course, so I ran with it. I said, 'you caught me in the middle of a gang-bang and it's almost my turn. You wanna come in?' He, of course declined and went on with his business. Needless to say, Steve doesn't drop by anymore.

I have weird ass neighbors.

I am a very sweet person and am always very cordial and wave and say hi.

Several of my neighbors act like they have a big corn cobb up their ass (perhaps they do) and just act like I dont exist. They are very RUDE!!!

Do others on GLP have weird people as neighbors they have to put up with ??

LOL, once I had a neighbor who always drove a nice car, nice furniture, great clothes, basically the best of everything, but he didn't have the right vibe or personality to go with the wealth. No one knew what he did for a living and he never seemed to go to work. We were all suspicious. We had all kinds of theories. Talk of the pool in the summer.
LOL... Years later there was a big FBI raid at his place and he was arrested for counterfeiting . All $20.00 bills.
Would take a lot of time to make all the 20's that his lifestyle required....

I have a couple of nudists in their 70's living next door.

I made the mistake once of getting friendly with a neighbor 2 doors down and she began to pop in on me all the time. I had to sell the house and move to get out of that situation. When I'm home, I don't want anyone popping in for a visit. Once thing I always remember about her is, when I mentioned to her that I wanted to build a privacy fence in my back yard, she said, "Why? What are you going to be doing there that you don't want your neighbors to see."

Why dont you want to get to know anyone there??

Others in highly populated areas view their home as their bastion of privacy where they can escape the hustle and bustle of the world.. the one place where they don't want intrusion. A matter of perspective for someone living in the country or small town, or an extrovert.

what is it that you're afraid of that makes you come to glp and tell EVERYONE, yet can't tell ONE PERSON to their face that you don't like the pop in and that you're not that kind of friend? WHY?

you had to move because you couldn't tell someone how you feel? WHY?

millions come on the internet to air their shit, act all smug and talk down to people. but most can't seem to have normal conversations in the real world. turn off the puters and learn to talk to people IN PERSON again.

I totally agree with Anonymous Coward 1071335. I live in a large city. Everywhere I go there are crowds. The streets, highways, grocery stores, Dr. offices, everywhere, is full of people who are rude and in a hurry. I also work with the public all day long, and belief me, that is draining. So when I get home, all I want to do is tune it all out. I find this time is neccessary for me to recharge. I covete my privacy and dont' like to be intruded upon. The saying, I gave at the office, is very true for me. I just don't have anything left to form relationships with the neighbors. And I don't have a need or desire to get to know them. It's like everyone I meet wants something from me. So when the weekend comes, I'm all "peopled out" and I just need peace and quite. I'm sure that many of the neighbors OP and others are describing feel the same way I do. In fact, I think I am being respectfull of my neighbors needs by not bothering them. I will say hello if I see someone outside, but that's about it.

The best neighbors are the ones who leave me alone and I do the same for them. I don't feel that they are unfriendly at all, they just need their space too. That's how I like it.

neighbor here likes to dumpster dive at the hostess chips for dated chips, keeps them, then gives out to kids for holloween, sells illicit booze and cigarettes.....floods his basement and collects the insurance money...collects air conditioners, and releases the freeon into the atmospher, dumps chemicals in his yard instead of disposing, will not put his garbage out until the truck comes by so he can throw it in the back himself, so he can throw out garbage they would not normally take or hides his garbage in his neighbors cans...if you want this piece of shit asshole, you can have him...i for one am surprised no-one has not taken him out yet...but we can hope

one neighbor down the street always has about 7 - 10 cars there, not a mechanic place. no one ever outside. different cars sometimes. i am highly suspicios.
