Anonymous Coward User ID: 568958 United States 08/28/2010 07:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm thinking a .357 revolver but not sure which one to get- plus they seem to go for $500 and up. What other choices are out there in the $250 to $350 range? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1066655.357 is good choice. If you want something small and economical, try a .357 derringer. If you need more than 2, your screw anyway. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 616779 United States 08/28/2010 07:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I prefer a revolver to semi-auto. I already have semi-autos. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1066655I want to eliminate the possibility of a jam. a cheap revolver is MUCH more likely to jam then a cheap semi. You can get a ruger p series, a taurus 24/7, or a sigma in your price range....nothing beautiful but will go bang every time compared to a cheap wheel gun. |

XDM 9mm User ID: 1081330 United States 08/28/2010 07:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.youtube.com] I carry a XDM 9mm it comes with everything you need including a Mag holder and holster. I bought an extra mag so with 19 in the mag, one in the barrel and the two extra mags I always have 58 rounds. So before anyone starts to say anything about a 9mm being too small I think that the 58 rounds will more than compensate so that. Knowing that the person that lived with the most bullet wounds in the world was shot 19 times. So 58 should take out (Read protect) anyone. Here is mine [link to www.topgunsupply.com] |

Quoting: wolverineI think wheel guns are charming like horse drawn carriages vs Automobiles but ask me which one will get me to work on time. Seriously, revolvers worth having are an expensive anachronism, Heavy, Low Capacity, Slow Reloading, Thick under concealment clothing and inferior to a modern, reliable automatic in every way but aesthetics. I would only hand a revolver to someone I thought was too primitive to figure out how to rack a slide and load a magazine.Anyone else should get an automatic and lear how to use it. |

Are you like 70...or just stupid? just realistic, unlike you who cares about image and bragging rights over function and reliability. cuz you need to carry 60 rounds on you at all times. plenty of average citizens are involved in SUSTAINED FIRE FIGHTS. you and steven segal. Although if you are a guy of average build with some weight to you, should be able to conceal a 1911 or N frame Smith just fine. Massad Ayoob wrote about concealing a 4" 629 in a Sparks Summer Special holster with just a vest or out shirtail. A 4" .44mag is way more versatile than the special, if you handload.... Really ought to handload... Last Edited by Lester on 08/28/2010 07:35 PM |

Quoting: wolverineThat was about an ignorant comment. I like wheel guns too, but the fact is you dont want a cheap one. You dont have to worry about timing, or cylinder bore alignment on a cheap semi. If you want a wheel gun fine, I have several, but they arent the place to skimp on money. |

Depending on what mood I'm in, I'll grab whichever. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1067931 United States 08/28/2010 07:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Also lots of 1911 clones used in that price range, Rock Island Arsenal/Norinco/etc. Hard to go wrong with the 1911 45 acp...Anyone who says otherwise is full of shit. 1911 is one of the best, most reliable pistols, ever designed...period! and the 45Acp round is outstanding for personal defense. |

I like the j frame S&W airlight .38 built in laser and will fire +p's. light deadly and concealable. A real nice weapon. JHP in +p delivers. Cui Bono? |
