One subject you might have touched on a bit, indirectly, I believe, needs more expansion and that is..psychological survival.

You can have all the best gear in the world and know how to use it but if you suddenly discover that part of your family has been decimated by whatever catastrophic event happened, everything you know and care about is gone, and the world will never be what it was, some of us would adjust one way or the other but some would find it so difficult that they can't think straight for two seconds in a row let alone do what's necessary to survive. They go into shock and never come out.

Any tips on how to prepare to survive psychologically/emotionally?
