Yes, I do understand about the weeds.

I think all plants are good plants.

**Indeed In That They All Do Contribute ... To The Health Of The Planet !!

My garden tends to be one of the "weedier messier ones.

**Well ... That Does Happen !! ... Though Happens For Reasons !!

The problem is, that before it became my garden, it had been the weed dumping ground for all the other gardeners, so there are thousands of weed seeds in that area, it's not just the normal amounts of weeds.

**Hmmm !!! ... Though There Is The ... "Old Terrestrial Adage" ... That If You Have Lots Of Lemons ... You Make ... Lemonade !! ... Hee Hee Hee !!! .. So If You Have Lots Of Weeds ... Determine What These Plants Are ... What Uses They Are ... And Take Advantage !!

I also understand that really nothing is a weed..there are good uses for everything.

**But Of Course !!! ... A "Weed" Is Just A Plant ... According To One's Perception ... This Is Growing In ... An Improper Place !!!

I have dandelions, which are good to eat when harvested young,

**Hmmm !!!

and stinging nettles are healthy as a tea, good as soup, and when they sit in water for a couple of weeks make a good pest deterrent to spray on plants.

I have 3 other sorts of weeds, that are actually the main ingredients in cough medicine..

**Oh Now That Is Very Interesting !!

I do let a little of all of these grow and do harvest them for use.

I also grow chamomile both for teas and as a steam to loosen congested sinuses when sick.

The problem is that my garden belongs to a group of allotment gardens and when one agrees to rent you must also agree to keep it tidy and presentable- according to others' idea of "tidy and presentable".

**Oh Brother !!! ... One Of Those ... "According To How "Others" Think & See Things" !!!

They are fairly lenient with me as I am caring for the garden by myself, and it's a lot of work to do.

It's also the very last garden in a complex of 200 so not many come that far to look at it.

**That Is Nice !! ... And Helps Too !!

The wild blackberry brambles that grow on the outer edge and invade inwards are delicious, and I harvest them
despite their fearsome thorns.

Oh yes, another weed which is very resilient is "horse tail"......but..it is a wonderful source of silica...one can make a tea to drink...and also makes a good fertilizer for plants when the tea is diluted.

It's just that there are so many weeds making so much work,

Oh Indeed !!

and the problem of the masses of slugs.

**Not To Mention ... The Ones ... Who Don't Go To Mass !! ... That Are ... Non Religious !! ... Hee Hee Hee !!!

I have spoken to the slug community, but..I guess all the other gardens spoke first and told them to go to my area.

**Have You Though Spoken With ... The "Slug Overseer" ?? ... Rather Then The Slug Community Itself ??

** All Of The "Animal Forms" Have ... A "Collective" ... To Which One Can ... Connect To ... As One Would Talk & Connect To ... Energies ... Some Call Them ... Spirits, Sprites, Gnomes ... Fairies ... Other Things ... That
Live In These Areas !! ... Now The Conduit Had Once Talked/Communicated With ... The Rat Overseer ... About A Young Rat ... That Had Accidentally Frightened A Woman ... Where He Used To Work !! ... Of This We Worked Out An Agreement/Understanding ... Which Was Acceptable To All !!

But, above all, the harvest makes it worth the work it is a joy to have such lovely fruits and veggies and I cherish each one.
